This is what out project looked like to start with. Overall in good condition but it had been outside and the belly pan was full of leaves. The motor is free but will need to be gone thru. This girl deserves a second life and we're going to give it to her. . |

And so the tear down begins! We started with a box of extra parts that were part of the package when we bought her. |

This is the condition of our pan. The old
leaves have really pitted the aluminum plus
there are a lot of tears around the spindle holes. The search is on for
a better pan.

Our search has located a couple of jets for sale on the VSCA web ads. Luck has it they are in Minnesota and the 75 Astro SS has a very clean pan. Perfect around the spindles with no cuts and hardly any dings. As tough as this sled looks its amazing the condition. Thanks to Tim of Breckanridge for giving us a good deal. Another great vintage guy met, that's half the fun of this addiction! |

Down to the tunnel. The handles, bumper and foot rests are all that's left before she's ready to start working her way back to life. The motor has gone to our Yamaha mechanic Mike Rapp for a total going thru and our hood and belly pan went to Mike the "vintage sled body man" for a total make over too! Our job is not close to being done either. Every little part from suspension to ski tip must be disassembled and cleaned and blasted and primed and painted and shined and reassembled, well you get the picture. Are we having FUN yet!!! You bet!!! |
